Program Description What does Archaeology look like in the contemporary world? Through a specialization in Mediterranean Archaeology you will go beyond the traditional study of Greek and Roman societies to answer this question by exploring the religions of the ancient Mediterranean, cultural aspects of ancient Mediterranean societies, and examining their economic, political, and cultural influence on the world today. Discover how the Mediterranean remains influenced by the ancient Mediterranean and step up to the challenge of responding to threats to cultural heritage.
Study the archaeology of a time and place not explored in other Archaeology programs in Ontario with professors who are experts currently working in the field.
Courses Students who have fulfilled the requirements for a single- or joint-major Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree in Archaeology may graduate with a Specialization in Mediterranean Archaeology if they have successfully completed the following 4.0 credits: ANTH-AHCL credit consisting of ANTH-AHCL 2205H and 2206H (or AHCL 2200Y) ANTH-AHCL credits from ANTH-AHCL 2201H, 3221H (or 3220Y), 3222H, 3240H, 3250H, 3251H, 3252H, 3275H, 4003H, or 4145H Resume Boosters: Conduct field work in Ontario, or abroad in places like Belize, Europe, Turkey, North Africa, and more, or right here in Ontario Gain hands-on experience in specialized labs for bioarchaeology, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), archaeozoology and lithic analysis
